Integrating Zoho CRM with Africa’s Talking for Scalable SMS Campaigns

Built a custom SMS campaign tool inside Zoho CRM that uses Africa's Talking API to send, schedule, and track SMS delivery at scale.

This project introduced bulk SMS functionality into Zoho CRM using Africa’s Talking API. The tool allows users to segment recipients based on CRM data (e.g., Move Type, Module, Contact Type), preview real-time recipient counts, and send or schedule messages. Before sending, messages go through an approval process. If a recipient’s number is in Africa’s Talking’s blocked list, the system intelligently falls back to email delivery. SMS delivery status is logged, and all campaign actions are auditable. The entire system was built with custom Zoho CRM modules, Deluge, and Africa's Talking REST API integration.
